The Irish Times: Praise for The Baseballs
"Baseballs hitting home runs with their doo-wop pop makeovers", says the Irish Times in a current piece on the Berlin band, praising how the band manages to bring back both the spirit and the craftsmanship it takes to produce "real" music. "You’ll be shocked at how far today’s music has been removed from its primordial roots", writes the author, pointing out why The Baseballs "should be your favourite new band" for that exact reason: " Songs by the likes of Rihanna and Beyoncé are stripped of their manifold layers of studio-enhanced effects and basically covered as a young Elvis would have sung them", the result being " a modern classic that could have been recorded at Memphis’s Sun Studios in the mid-1950s."
